Up for sale is this Hardwood turning blank. It is Leopardwood from Brazil (Roupala brasiliensis.) and measures 1.5″ x 1.5″ x 6.0″ . Leopardwood is also known as Lacewood.  Leopardwood is pale pinkish brown to medium brown with flaky, speckled figure with dark flecks, varying from a small lacelike pattern to a larger “splashy” figure. The texture of Leopardwood is fairly coarse. It is moderately hard and works easy and takes a lustrous finish. Fairly scarce.The figure ranges from straight to wavy. It is hard and heavy, very fine texture. It is the perfect size for a Wood Chisel handle, Bottle Stopper, and more. Design your own and turn it out on your wood lathe, finish anyway you like and have a unique tool that shows who you are and fits and feels just like you want!
